I could see her more collapsing in exhaustion after a long day. If Jeanne gets drunk like that every time they have a party or whatever I could accept that. Frankly, once straight people can accept that two adult women, who are not related, living together and sharing lifelong devotion, even if they aren’t literally homosexual, is kinda gay. Many gay icons (whether real or fictional) are not gay at all. But everyone seems to take it as their every day life, and that kind of makes me sad.

Like I said in another comment though, I do accept Bayo as being the domestic type like that. Nintendo and PlatinumGames are releasing Bayonetta 3 on Oct. 28 on Nintendo Switch. I wonder about this as well. Many queer critics were disappointed by Bayonetta's relationship status in Bayonetta 3, but these reactions have biphobic undercurrents. And they’re loved for their personality, work or activism by the community. She’s a character beloved by the LGBTQ+ community. Also, where would she even fit this into her every day life?

Even if the games didn't really make Bayonetta's sexual orientation clear, she was believed to be at the very least bisexual or pansexual, but Bayonetta 3 revises all this to a degree. Released amidst glaring reviews and controversies, Bayonetta 3 erases years of positive representation for its sexually-emancipated protagonist.

Im not saying she's a gay icon or anything though, or even that she has huge gay following. When the review embargo for Bayonetta 3 lifted on Tuesday, it was almost immediately followed by vocal disappointment by some reviewers that the game seems to undercut the titular witch’s queer sexuality by having her in a romance with a man.

Jeanne, on the other hand, has been alive for more years than Bayo and probably just stopped giving a crap at some point during that time and is happy to let Bayo take care of that stuff. She never really had the chance to live that kind of comfortable domestic life, so she probably embraces the opportunity to do basic chores and things like that because it makes her feel like she finally has a home.

Bayonetta is a gay icon in the same way a pop star like Madonna or Lady Gaga is a gay icon. She grew up as the outcast, was sealed away for years, then spent 20 years doing who knows what.
